FOX 5’s Zip Trip Is Coming To Middleburg on August 3rd

Join FOX 5 “Good Day DC” Anchors Tucker Barnes, Annie Yu, and Tony Perkins at South Madison Street by the Red Fox Tavern

Tucker will kick off Friday’s broadcast reporting the weather from Common Grounds with owners Duane and Cyndi Ellis before moving over to Popcorn Monkey to interview owner Deltone Moore.

At 7, Annie and Tony will join and say hello to Fox 5 fans as Tucker provides weather updates from outside Highcliffe Clothiers with owner Mark Metzger and Betsy Davis, owner of The Fun Shop. Around 7:45, the FOX 5 team will present their “5 Must Stops” in Middleburg. After that, Annie will interview Kevin Pawlack, the Director of Education at the Mosby Heritage Area Association.

In the 8 a.m. hour, the anchors will be joined by Middleburg Mayor Bridge Littleton and will put his knowledge of the town to the test with a trivia contest.  At 8:45, Tucker will give a weather hit with Cana Vineyards Winemaker Melanie Natoli. Shortly after, Kurt Baier and Matilda Reuter Engle from Red Fox Inn & Tavern will join the broadcast to talk about their unique dishes.

Shortly after 9, Anne Michael Greene from Washington Fine Properties will join the broadcast to discuss different real estate in the area. At 9:30, as part of “Tucker Tries It,” he will try polo at the National Sporting Library with guest Rebekah Pizana, from Greenhill Winery & Vineyards, and John Gobin, from Great Meadow Polo Club. For First Responders Friday, the FOX 5 team will talk to the town’s dedicated public safety personnel including Middleburg Police Chief AJ Panebianco. At the end of the hour, Executive Chef Eric Smith of Goodstone Inn & Restaurant will present his farm to table menu items.

In the final hour, the FOX 5 team will welcome the Hometown Hero, Cody Harsh and AW Myatt from the Middleburg Community Charter School. Then, the Foxcroft Girls Field Hockey Team, with captains Haley Buffenbarger and Grace MacDonald, will be honored as the Hometown Team. The broadcast will finish with guests Justin Musyt and Alex Garcia from Restaurant 3 Salamander Resort & Spa alongside Cupcake, the miniature pony, for cocktails.
