Loudoun Chamber Foundation Announces Matching Gift Pledge to Support Local Tourism and Hospitality Workers
Lansdowne, VA
The Loudoun Chamber of Commerce has launched a matching pledge campaign to raise funds for the Tourism & Hospitality Relief Fund established by the Visit Loudoun Foundation.
The Loudoun Chamber Foundation will match every donation it receives on behalf of the Tourism & Hospitality Relief Fund, up to $5,000, that is made by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 27th. These donations will provide financial support to local hospitality workers who have lost their jobs or seen their hours and pay severely limited, due to the ongoing Novel Coronavirus/COVID 19 crisis.
“While the coronavirus crisis has impacted every business, none have experienced the devastating disruption as our hospitality businesses. It is their employees – who are our friends, family and neighbors – who have borne the largest brunt of their industry’s suffering. The Loudoun Chamber is proud to support our hospitality businesses and the many hard-working folks who make this industry such a vital part of Loudoun’s culture and way of life,” said Loudoun Chamber President Tony Howard
The Tourism & Hospitality Relief Fund is being managed by the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties, the same organization that manages the Loudoun Chamber Foundation.
To be eligible for a match by the Loudoun Chamber, donations can be made through the Loudoun Chamber Foundation’s portal on Community Foundation’s web site. Please write Tourism & Hospitality Relief Fund in the box titled “Order Notes.”
“The Loudoun Chamber Foundation was created to support those community organizations that are supporting our neediest citizens. I want thank Visit Loudoun and their CEO Beth Erickson, for creating the Tourism & Hospitality Relief Fund ,so that we can show our gratitude and support for the many restaurants, wineries, local shops and hotels, and their workers, that are hurting right now,” said Loudoun Chamber Chair Stacey Metcalfe.
