Chrysalis Takes Gold for 2021 Locksley Reserve Norton at Virginia Governor’s Cup
MIDDLEBURG, VA — Chrysalis Vineyards’ 2021 Locksley Reserve Norton has been awarded a gold medal at the 2024 Virginia Governor’s Cup. With a long-standing history of 42 years, the Virginia Governor’s Cup has a reputation for showcasing the best that Virginia has to offer, and being awarded a gold medal is an immense honor.
The mission at Chrysalis Vineyards is to celebrate the crafting of world-class wines from the Norton grape, Virginia’s native gem, along with European varietals that thrive in Virginia. Receiving such an honor illuminates the hard work and dedication that went into producing this fine wine and is a demonstration of the beautiful wines that can be produced from the Virginia Norton.
As the flagship red of Chrysalis Vineyards, the Locksley Reserve Norton is a standard in their collection of wines and has always been one of the most enjoyed and adored by friends and patrons of the winery. The wine has elegant aromatic notes of sage, tobacco, and dark red fruit, and possesses a firm structure that leaves a long finish of black pepper, spices, and black currant on the palate.
In addition to this award, Chrysalis Vineyards is also excited to announce that the 2021 Locksley Reserve Norton will be made available to the public on February 22 so that patrons can celebrate the win as well.
