Ninth Annual Gala Celebrating Wounded Service Members and Their Families

HAYMARKET, VA — On Saturday, November 2, join generous hearts in an inspirational evening celebrating the lives of wounded warriors in our community at the Willing Warriors Ninth Annual Gala. Brigadier General Arnold N. Gordon-Bray (Ret.) will be the guest of honor. He has completed over three decades of service in the U.S. Army and is an engaging and experiential speaker. His civic interests have allowed him to participate in many national, state, and community boards and the North Carolina Military Affairs Commission.

This gala, hosted at the enchanting Lansdowne Resort and Spa in Leesburg, Virginia, at 5 p.m., is a testament to the power of community support. The even, featuring Tony Perkins as the guest emcee, promises an evening of fine dining, drinks, dancing, live and silent auctions, and entertainment. Willing Warriors is a charitable organization that provides cost-free retreat stays and programs that positively impact wounded, ill, and injured service members and their families. WW opened on July 4, 2015, as a volunteer- and community-sponsored 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization. Willing Warriors has served over 2,500 warriors and their families at the Warrior Retreat at Bull Run in Haymarket, Virginia. The retreat offers a six-day respite stay during which warriors and their families can temporarily escape hospital settings and day-to-day demands to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect. Recovering warriors can participate in nearly 40 activities to heal their minds and bodies, and five-star meals are prepared by the Visiting Chef Program, with local and military chef teams visiting from around the region, including the Presidential Food Service Team. The retreat currently features three ADA-accessible homes on 37 acres in the shadow of the history Bull Run Mountains.
