Banneker Elementary PTO Brings Holiday Spirit to the Christmas in Middleburg Parade

MIDDLEBURG, VA — The Banneker Elementary Parent Teacher Organization proudly participated in this year’s Christmas in Middleburg Parade, representing Middleburg’s historic public school and sharing holiday cheer with the community.

This year’s float, themed “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” was a vibrant and festive display featuring beloved characters, including a special guest appearance by the Grinch riding in the back and Banneker Elementary’s mascot, Benny the Bronco, leading the way. The float was designed, decorated, and brought to life by a team of dedicated volunteers, including Banneker’s parents, students, and teachers, showcasing the spirit of teamwork and community that defines the school.

“We are thrilled to be part of this cherished holiday tradition,” PTO President Jay Billings said. “Banneker Elementary has been a cornerstone of the Middleburg community since 1948, and the parade gave us the perfect opportunity to celebrate our school’s legacy and connect with the wonderful families and friends that make Middleburg such a special place.”

Banneker Elementary School holds a unique place in Middleburg’s history as its public school, fostering a sense of community for local families for more than 75 years. The PTO plays a vital role in supporting the school through initiatives that enhance the educational and social experiences of its students.

The PTO invites the community to join them in their mission to enrich the lives of Banneker’s students. Whether through donations, volunteering, or attending events, community support is crucial to the success of their initiatives.
