“It is very labor intensive around here in the morning,” said Blair Lear, postmaster in Marshall. Lear’s day had begun, as it often does, at 5 a.m. with a huge shipment of parcels arriving from Amazon. “And wehaven’t even received the UPS shipment yet.”
Lear has served as Marshall’s postmaster since 2005.
“I had been in Amissville,” he said. “And in 2004, my boss asked if I would help out briefly in Marshall as officer in charge.”
Middleburg’s Jim Wofford won a team silver medal at the Mexico City Olympics aboard Kilkenny in 1968. Both British and Americans divide breeds of dogs into seven groups. For the Brits, their terminology of gun dogs, pastoral and utility dogs correspond to the American sporting, herding and non-sporting groups.

Meet 34-year-old Albert Patterson, a native Californian who spent eight years in the Army before being honorably discharged as a sergeant in 2012. He’s the proud father of four with a fifth on the way. And he and his father-in-law, Nolan Barzee, completed the purchase of Middleburg Printers from Vince Perricone at the end of 2015.
