Former Georgetown Basketball Player and Active-Duty Reservist Appointed by Virginia Governor to Virginia Veterans Services Foundation Board of Trustees
BLUEMONT, VA — Blue Fire Fed, LLC, today announced that its CEO and President Omari Faulkner has been appointed to the Virginia Veterans Services Foundation Board of Trustees by Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin.
Faulkner is an active member of the U.S. Navy Reserve and has more than 10 years of experience advocating for a myriad of veteran, active-duty, reserve, and military family causes. Most recently, he received the 2023 Veteran Champions of the Year in Corporate America recognition from G.I. Jobs Magazine, in which he stated, “I feel a workplace with veterans and military family is more productive, successful, diverse, and mission focused. Today, as an active Navy Reservist, I wake up in the morning inspired by veterans of generations past. And I remain galvanized to work even harder for our veterans and military families of the future, because it’s through them and only them that we will remain a beacon of freedom, liberty, prosperity, and most importantly, blessed by the divine presence of God.”
The Virginia Veterans Services Foundation is an independent agency of the Commonwealth, supporting the interests of veterans and their families through the Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs, and is governed by an appointed Board of Trustees.
“I am very excited to join the Virginia Veteran Services Foundation Board of Trustees,” Faulkner said. “Virginia is home to hundreds of thousands of veterans, almost more than any other state in the U.S., and every veteran must know that we have their back. I am blessed beyond measure to do everything I can to assure we support our members of the Armed Forces, military family members, and caregivers. I thank God for allowing me to use my actions, voice, and my hardworking approach to do my part for a vital mission that will determine the future of our country. While there may be many topics Americans disagree on, hence our rich diversity, we must seek to be united on our support for veterans, their loved ones, and the broader military family.”
