La Liste Releases its Top 1,000 List of the World’s Best Restaurants for 2024
WASHINGTON, VA — The Inn at Little Washington, the only Michelin three-starred restaurant south of New York City, has earned a top ranking in La Liste’s annual survey of the world’s 1,000 best restaurants for 2024.
La Liste, a guide based in France, ranks the world’s best restaurants by using an aggregate score compiled from respected international guidebooks, grades submitted by several thousand chefs around the world, custom reviews, etc. The Inn climbed from 96.5 in 2023 to 97.5 in 2024. This year, only seven restaurants around the globe earned the top score of 99.5. The Inn, led by Chef Patrick O’Connell, holds a score of 97.5, making it the fifth-highest rated restaurant in the world along with 31 other establishments which all tied for fifth-tier place. The Inn is the only restaurant in Virginia to be included in La Liste’s annual rankings.
American restaurants made up 105 out of the 1,000 included, behind France with 107; China with 122; and Japan with 140.
The top seven restaurants in the world based on their shared score of 99.5 are: Le Bernardin, NYC; L’Enclume, U.K.; Guy Savoy, France; La Vague d’Or, France; Schwarzwaldstube, Germany; Lung King Heen, China; and SushiSaito in Japan. Only four restaurants in the U.S. received a higher score than the Inn.
“We’re immensely proud of our team’s efforts in achieving this rarefied, international distinction and look forward to elevating our score once again next year,” said Chef Patrick O’Connell.
