Loudoun Symphony Orchestra Presents Family Concert on January 18
PURCELLVILLE, VA — The Loudoun Symphony Orchestra will present its “Discover the Orchestra: Safari!” concert at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, at Woodgrove High School (36811 Allder School Road, Purcellville, VA).
Conducted by Loudoun Symphony’s music director, Hayden Denesha, this one-hour full-orchestra animal-themed concert is designed to introduce children to classical music in a low-pressure and fun setting. Arrive early at 3 p.m. for face painting, craft making, and to touch and try musical instruments at the Instrument Petting Zoo provided by Music & Arts. The musical safari includes music from “Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Saint-Saëns, highlights from “Jurassic Park,” and “The Shark Theme” from “Jaws,” both by John Williams.
The program is underwritten by Northwest Federal Credit Union. Concert tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students. Sponsorship has made it possible to provide free tickets to anyone who has a need. Tickets may be requested by emailing [email protected]. Tickets are available for purchase through Eventbrite.
Now in its 34th season, the mission of the Loudoun Symphony is to evolve as a premier regional symphony through artistic excellence by providing a variety of programs that enrich, educate, engage, and entertain the community. To carry out this mission, a full season of five concerts will be presented by the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra. The educational outreach program includes the Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra program, which now provides performance opportunities for talented students through four ensembles and intensive training through a week-long Summer Orchestral Institute.
