Teachers Tournament Contestant Invites Community to Viewing Party; Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. ET

WHAT: Middleburg Academy is opening its doors to the community of Middleburg for a JEOPARDY! viewing party to support teacher and JEOPARDY! Teachers Tournament contestant Eduardo Sevilla. During the event, Middleburg Academy students, faculty, friends, family, and local Farmers Insurance® agent Thomas Knox will join Sevilla to watch his appearance on the show and cheer him on from the first clue to Final JEOPARDY! Sevilla is also the recipient of a $2,500 educational grant presented by Farmers Insurance® and the insurer group’s Thank America’s Teachers® program. Farmers Insurance® will award all 15 Teachers Tournament contestants, including Sevilla, a $2,500 educational grant to fund classroom projects regardless of where they placed in the tournament. Sevilla plans to use the $2,500 grant to support his school’s overall S.T.E.A.M. initiative, with new weights and measuring systems, a high accuracy weighing scale for AP level chemistry, multiple medium accuracy scales for science classes, and a variety of other equipment.
