The National Sporting Library & Museum (NSLM) held its 2020 Polo Classic on Sunday, September 13th at Great Meadow in The Plains, Virginia. This event featured two top tier polo matches, the Founders Cup and the Mars Cup, and a parade of the Orange County Hounds.Â
This year was a different set up from prior years due to COVID-19. Instead of the traditional Founders Pavilion hosting a large group, there were individual tailgates spaced 12 feet apart, accommodating a maximum of six guests per tailgate.
The NSLM Polo Classic is the only fundraising event for the National Sporting Library & Museum located in Middleburg, Va. From exhibitions to educational programs to preservation of their collections and more, the tickets purchased help to fulfill their mission: to preserve, promote, and share the literature, art, and culture of equestrian, angling, and field sports. Additionally, this year a portion of proceeds is being shared with local food banks to support community members who have experienced loss and hardship from the COVID-19 pandemic.
