The day dawned bright and lovely for our photo shoot for this month’s cover. We had two stunning venues with multiple locations to capture, along with three gracious gentlemen who left their kitchens behind to have a little fun!
Executive Chef Ryan Arensdorf of Salamander Resort & Spa (Cover Right) was first to host us upon their lovely grounds. Ryan, and all of our participants, were dressed by Mark Metzger of Highcliffe Clothiers and wore an Oxxford Sport Coat, Highcliffe Shirt, Seaward & Stearn Tie, Levi’s Jeans and Alden Shoes. “People don’t often recognize me out of my work clothes,” Ryan said. “It’s fun to dress up and joke around with a couple of guys in the industry, pick each other’s brains, and just have a good time together.”
Executive Chef Anthony Nelson of Field & Main Restaurant (Cover Middle), felt at ease in his custom designed suit by Highcliffe Clothiers. He enjoyed the camaraderie as well, and being able to “speak the same language.” Full of good humor, he kept the conversation lively with never a dull moment. We were all amazed to learn that Ryan and Anthony grew up about two hours apart, Ryan in Colby, Kansas, and Anthony in Yuma, Colorado. What a small world!
Rounding out our grouping was Executive Chef Eric Smith of Goodstone Inn & Restaurant, where our cover shot was taken. Eric carried off his look of a Hickey Freeman Sport Coat, Highcliffe Shirt, Lee Allison Tie, Levi’s Jeans and Rancourt & Company shoes to a tee. He felt that the “opportunity to grow closer and build their network was especially nice,” as they spend a lot of time perfecting their craft.
