Tis the Season for Tutus and Tchaikovsky

Give the gift of memories with tickets to Loudoun County’s favorite family tradition, The Nutcracker, performed by The Loudoun Ballet Performing Arts Company. The beloved holiday classic will run Friday, December 6, through Sunday, December 8. Tickets are available at www.lbpac.org.

Travel alongside the spirited young Clara and her Nutcracker Prince on an enchanted and heroic journey to the Land of the Sweets where Clara will be honored by its ruler, the Sugar Plum Fairy. Set to Tchaikovsky’s extraordinary musical score, The Nutcracker is an irresistible and timeless adventure for all who want to become lost in splendor and magic of the holidays.

Since its inception, The Loudoun Ballet Performing Arts Company (LBPAC) has garnered a reputation for producing high-quality performances that rival those of professional companies, and The Nutcracker is no exception.

Audiences can look forward to outstanding choreography, engaging music, exquisite and imaginative costumes, vibrant set designs, and a few delightful surprises LBPAC’s acclaimed artistic directors add each year.

LBPAC is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization committed to enriching the community by sharing the joy and artistry of ballet. Currently in the middle of its third ambitious season, LBPAC recently wowed audiences with its debut production of Excerpts from The Sleeping Beauty, which showcased the remarkable dramatic and technical abilities of more than 50 Loudoun-based, pre-professional ballet dancers. In April 2020, LBPAC will premier its original production of the classic Hans Christian Anderson fairytale, The Little Mermaid, which is sure to captivate audiences of all ages.

The Nutcracker performances will take place on Friday, December 6 at 7.30 p.m., Saturday, December 7 at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and Sunday, December 8 at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville.
