After being canceled last year to uphold COVID-19 protocols, the oldest horse show in the United States is back in Upperville, Virginia. The flock of participants that would have attended the now-paused Devon Horse Show in Pennsylvania adds increased competition to the Upperville show. Moreover, with the return of the cicadas buzzing under the oaks after their seventeen-year slumber, this year’s show is particularly unforgettable.
