Welcome To Cannons Week
The Purcellville Cannons Collegiate Baseball Club gets underway with our second season in Loudoun with a free exhibition game on Wednesday night, followed by the season opener on Friday night, then the long-awaited home opener on Saturday night.

Wednesday, May 31, 2017 – Gates 5:30, Game 7:00 – Fireman’s Field, Purcellville
The Cannons’ 2017 roster will be unveiled to the public, and new officially licensed Cannons merchandise will go on sale. Then the Cannons will play a nine-inning game against the Loudoun Riverdogs of the Cal Ripken League. Admission to the game is free.

The Cannons return to the friendly confines of home to take on nearby rival Winchester Royals. A crowd of some 1,000 fans is expected to welcome the Cannons back to Loudoun.

Among the young men suiting up for the Cannons this summer:
Will Reed: Second season with the Cannons. Loudoun Valley High School graduate now with West Virginia University. Was a Summer All-American in 2016 after winning four games and saving seven, striking out 35 batters in 22 innings pitched.
Trey McDyre: First season with the Cannons. Loudoun Valley High School graduate now with Liberty University. Starred in baseball, football and basketball for the Vikings. Big athletic left-side infielder.
Devon Perez: First season with the Cannons. Stone Bridge High School graduate now with the University of Oklahoma. Hard-throwing right-hander.
Tyler Ratliff: Second season with the Cannons. T.C. Williams High School graduate now with Marshall University. Superior athleticism to play shortstop, to hit for power and to be effective on the mound.
Other returning Cannons: pitcher Alex London; infielder Ray Hernandez; infielder Raul Cabrera; catcher Onassis Matos; outfielder Andrew Zban.
